Project Management
ITS PMO collaborates with our University partners to implement enterprise technology projects that help meet business obligations and that benefit our UConn community. We encourage consistent project management practices that help the University of Connecticut fulfill its mission and strategic goals.
Current Projects:
HR Payroll Data Mart
The Human Resources and Payroll data mart is being developed to fulfill constituents' needs for Human Resources and Payroll data, specifically sourced from the PeopleSoft Core-CT system. This data mart will support institutional reporting for the Core-CT HR and Payroll transactional data, and empower self-service reporting.
Financial Aid Data Mart
ITS in partnership with Financial Aid will create Financial Aid Data Mart (FADM) within overall SADM data warehouse environment. FADM will make obsolete a number of existing Financial Aid customizations in the Peoplesoft CS 9.2 application and improve Financial Aid reporting process efficiency where practical.
Dual Enroll
This project will replace the Compass customization in CS 9.2 with the Dual Enroll SaaS solution for Academic year 2021-2022 to improve the University's Early College Enrollment experience. Business processes will be reviewed for improvement and efficiency opportunities between ECE and Registrar’s Office as part of this implementation.
Server OS Upgrade – Phase 1
Identify unsupported and end-of-life server operating systems and replace or upgrade to current supported versions.
WALR (Wireless Access Layer Replacement)
This program is an effort to upgrade all the network equipment and wired access infrastructure for the University. This will bring the all the buildings up to the current University’s telecommunications standard. This initiative breaks down the effort to be completed over a 5-year period.
Parking Application Upgrade
Upgrade the existing Parking software (TickeTrak) to a more current version that provides enhancements to existing functionality and additional capabilities. The upgrade will include moving the existing application from the UConn Data Center to a hosted site.
Firewall and Network Migration
Migrate all relevant applications off of old firewalls that are going end-of-life in September 2021. Applications will be migrated to updated networks as part of this project, and place mission critical University applications on upgraded and fully supported infrastructure.
Phone System Transition to VOIP
Migrate existing phone services to VoIP technology for Storrs campus, Waterbury, and Stamford.
